In a partnership announced with WeGift, Coinbase will begin to offer digital gift cards that can be spent at your favorite brick-and-mortar stores. According to TNW, “It’s a seemingly simple process. Go to the WeGift Coinbase website, select the wallet you wish to spend from, select the amount and gift card, press buy, and presto: you have real world, spendable money for some of your favorite stores.”
Singapore Airlines To Reward Customers With New Cryptocurrency Incentive Scheme
Singapore Airlines announced that they will be developing a new customer rewards scheme to reward frequent fliers who use their services. According to CryptoDaily, the new scheme will utilize blockchain technology. The new system, called KrisFlyer, facilitates a miles based wallet. As customers accrue air miles with Singapore Airlines, their custom is converted into a digital mile, or a token, one that can be used within Singapore Airlines and their numerous partner organizations.
New App Lets Users Mine Cryptos With a Laptop
Once again, almost anyone earn small amounts of bitcoin with a Windows laptop — similar to the “old days” of cryptocurrency.
Revealed exclusively to CoinDesk, the New Jersey-based crypto mining startup Honeyminer launched a free beta in June. The app has already been downloaded over 10,000 times since. This new Honeyminer program allows users to participate in a mining pool by running the app when the computer’s graphics processing unit (GPU) isn’t in use.
